Software – along with the hardware, the most important component of information technologies, including computer programs and data designed to address a range of tasks and stored on the machine carriers. Software is either the data for use in other programs, or algorithms, implemented in a sequence of instructions to the processor.

The computer is often used slang word software, which in this sense, first applied to an article in American Mathematical Monthly mathematician at Princeton University, John Tyuki in 1958. In the field of computer engineering and programming software – it is the totality of all information, data and programs, which are processed by computer systems. In informatics software – are sets of software packages and operating systems, which can be installed on personal computers, servers and supercomputers.

Software made for designation subdivided into system and application, but by way of distribution and use in commercial, public and free. Free software may be distributed, installed and used on any computers at home, in offices, schools, universities, as well as commercial and public institutions without restriction.
